SFX Choirs perform in Spring Choir Concert, more children display work in Fine Arts Night
St. Francis Xavier Xavier (SFX) Catholic School’s 3rd and 4th Grade Choir and its 5th through 8th Grade Choir performed in the school’s annual Spring Choir Concert on Thursday night and again on Friday afternoon.
The Thursday night performance was in tandem with the school’s Fine Arts Night, which also featured artwork students created in SFX art and STEAM teacher Ms. Patty Rudnicke’s class.
The 3rd and 4th Grade Choir sang four pieces including “Riqui, Riqui, Riquirran,” a Latin American folksong and “Vive la France!” a traditional French folk song medley.
The 5th through 8th Grade Choir also sang four pieces, including “O Salutaris,” a song with words written by St. Thomas Aquinas.
After the choirs sang individually, they sang another two pieces in a combined choir.
SFX Music Teacher Ms. Erin Ludwick directed the choir performance. She was accompanied by her husband Mr. Bruce Ludwick.
“I'm so proud of both of my choirs for their dedication, commitment, and hard work throughout this school year, which culminated with a beautiful Spring Concert!” said Ms. Ludwick.
