Why your generosity matters: Help us cultivate saints in 2024!

St. Francis Xavier Catholic School was established in 1954 as the first mission of the St. Francis Xavier Parish. Since then, we have served hundreds of families in the community by providing their children with a Christ-focused education rooted in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition.

Today, we continue to offer a well-rounded, integrated curriculum that prepares our students for not only the next step in their education, but to be excellent members of the family, the community, and the Church.

Our goal for the future is to continue to provide a quality faith-based education to the families we currently serve, but also expand our offerings and welcome new families who truly desire the experience we provide.

However, we can only do this with your help. As we mark 70 years this year, your contribution can make all the difference in securing Catholic education for another 70 years.

The proceeds from our 70th Anniversary Annual Fund Drive help fill the gap between our tuition and the cost of educating a child at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School.

Planning for the future

For the past two years, St. Francis Xavier Catholic School has sustained its enrollment. In the future, we hope to grow that number while still providing the same quality of instruction and overall family experience that we provide today.

In August, we began collecting data for our strategic plan, facilitated by the Birmingham Diocese Catholic Schools Office. This is a coordinated effort to clearly define the objectives necessitated by the school’s mission and identify strategies to accomplish those objectives over the next three to five years.

Soon, our board will begin assembling subcommittees in the following areas: Mission and Catholic Identity, Academic Excellence, Governance and Leadership, Operational Vitality, and Marketing and Development. These subcommittees will consist of members of the school and parish community with expertise in relevant fields.

If you are interested in serving on a subcommittee, we encourage you to contact our front office at 205-871-1687 or email us at office@sfxcatholic.com. We will be extraordinarily grateful for anyone willing to sacrifice their time and offer their expertise to this critical process.

“It is quite humbling to reflect on the legacy of 70 years of academic excellence and human formation at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School,” said St. Francis Xavier Catholic School Principal Ms. Mary Paige Griffin. “And, concurrently, it's exciting to consider what God has in store for the future of this special place.”

“As a member of the School Advisory Board for over three years, I have had the privilege of being a part of conversations around the school budget and have seen how carefully the school’s leaders work to balance the needs of the school, the cost of educating our students, and compensating our teachers for their hard work and dedication,” said St. Francis Xavier parent and board member Monica Echemendia. “And, as a parent of five St. Francis Xavier students, I am grateful that, with the Annual Fund, the school is able to provide such an outstanding education rooted in our Catholic faith. A huge thank you to those who donate to the Annual Fund! You are making a difference for each family at St. Francis Xavier School!”
