Second graders at St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School on Tuesday got to learn about the planets in our solar system, as well as our place in the Milky Way Galaxy and the universe during a field trip to Samford University’s Cristenberry Planetarium.

Saint Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School offers Latin to all students, including our preschoolers, because institution-wide Latin instruction aligns with our mission to inspire students to grow in faith, knowledge, wisdom and virtue as disciples of Jesus Christ.

This week, Ms. Marie Hayes’s second-grade class created their own “bullas,” which are lockets customarily worn by children in ancient Rome.
