SFX Catholic School honors the Feast of St. Joseph with ‘Donuts with Dads’ event, fathers come to school for donuts, coffee

On Tuesday morning, fathers of many St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School students gathered in the Parish Hall with their children for a sweet treat in honor of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ.

St. Joseph was a carpenter in Nazareth who was the husband of the Virgin Mary and helped raise Jesus following his birth in the First Century A.D. The Catholic Church venerates St. Joseph every year on March 19.

SFX School invited fathers to attend the “Donuts with Dads” events to celebrate St. Joseph and the vocation of fatherhood. School staff served donuts from Dunkin Donuts as well as orange juice and coffee.

"It was wonderful to see so many fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and brothers in attendance at this event,” said SFX Principal Mary Paige Griffin. “The significance of their presence and support in the life of a child cannot be overstated. God bless these men!"

"St. Joseph is the model of fatherhood and a spiritual father to us all,” she continued. “We pray for his intercession over all families, especially those in our St. Francis Xavier School community."
